The second-seeded Almagro fired 17 aces en route to his seventh career title and second in the last three weeks after stunning crowd favorite Robin Soderling in the final at the Swedish Open. Almagro and Gasquet had one previous encounter, with the Spaniard rallying from a set down to take a second-round match in Acapulco in February.
